First, there’s Black Friday. Then, Cyber Monday. And saving the best for last — #GivingTuesday!

#GivingTuesday
On Tuesday, December 2, people, charities and businesses around the world are encouraged to come together with one goal in mind: to give back.

Free yourself from the same old fundraising grind with a #GivingTuesday fundraiser that asks people to give a donation to childhood cancer research instead of buying a cup of coffee. Then reward contributors with a free cup of joe donated by a local cafe!

Want to brew up donations to childhood cancer research with your own #GivingTuesday coffee campaign? Here’s how to give it a shot in seven steps:

Step 1: Ask your local coffee shop to get involved

Stop by a local coffee shop and ask if they will donate coffee and pastries for your fundraiser. Businesses usually need advanced notice, so contact then ASAP.

Step 2: Set up a Do What You Want fundraiser

Start a Do What You Want fundraiser for your coffee campaign. Already registered for a 2015 event? Ask people to donate directly on your page and get a head start on reaching your fundraising goal!

Step 3: Generate buzz

Post flyers, send out an email, start a Facebook event and spread the word in any way you can to remind everyone to skip their coffee stop that morning and donate to get a free cup of java.

Step 4: Set up shop and bring a laptop

Don’t forget to bring or make a donation jar and have a laptop for online donations.

Step 5: Give a little St. Baldrick’s background

#GivingTuesday not only promotes the importance of giving but also helps create awareness. When you pass out coffee, include a handout with information about St. Baldrick’s and how their donation helps fund lifesaving research for kids with cancer.

Step 6: Send in donations and get closer to your fundraising goal

If you receive check donations, download this form and mail it to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Step 7: Espresso yourself

Remind contributors that the simple act of giving up their morning caffeine to donate will make a big difference for kids with cancer. And don’t forget to express your gratitude.
