This year the annual Romeo, Mich. St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event is back and determined to surpass their 2011 fundraising and shavee totals! With more than 20 Washington Township Fire Department firefighters registered to shave their heads for childhood cancer research and raise $4,000 as a team, the March 10, 2012 event is sure to be a success!
St. Baldrick’s volunteer event organizer, Michael Fiscus, anticipates that hundreds of local volunteers will come out to show their support and shave their heads alongside these firefighters. Last year the event raised more than $200,000 and had more than 400 shavees! “The event continues to build on its strengths and draw people from outside of the community to Romeo,” said Michael.
Way to go Romeo!
