Markit Celebrates St. Baldrick’s Record- Breaking Year!

On Tuesday, June 1 St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, donors, and even staff members were anxiously awaiting reaching the Foundation’s $20 million goal for 2010. Questions arose from volunteers all over the country. 

“When will we hit $20 million?” and “Do you think it will be tomorrow or next week?”  were questions that everyone was constantly asking to all of their St. Baldrick’s friends. Well, little did everyone know that Wednesday, June 2 would be the day!

That morning, a generous $100,000 donation from corporate sponsor, Markit, brought the total to more than $20 million. Markit is a leading, global financial information services company. The company provides independent data, valuations and trade processing across all asset classes in order to enhance transparency, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency. Markit is a wonderful supporter, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation looks forward to a long relationship with the company.

Wanting to celebrate the Foundation’s success, some Markit employees and company shavees stopped by the St. Baldrick’s board of directors meeting in New York on Monday, June 14 to take some celebratory photos and present their check.
