Only 33 days into 2012 and the St. Baldrick’s community has raised more than $2 million for childhood cancer research and helping us celebrate is top 2011 child fundraiser, Michael M.!
Joining his brother, Rudy, Michael shaved his head at the annual Frances Xavier Warde School in Chicago, Ill., raising a buzz stopping $107,491 for childhood cancer research! Michael shaved in memory of his uncle Will who passed away from cancer in February of last year and plans to shave again this year in honor of his friend, Nicki, who is currently battling leukemia.
A big thank you goes out to first-time and veteran shavees, who are making the choice to go bald in support of the children who don’t have a choice to lose their hair. Your efforts are raising money for life-saving research that will find cures and better treatment options for children battling cancer- they will not only survive, but thrive. Together, let’s CONQUER!
