$12 Million!

They say that things are better by the dozen and a million dollars is no different.  Thanks to everyone who has donated their hard earned dimes and dollars, we have raised over an incredible $12 million! This is proof that every dollar counts in the fight against kids' cancer! In 2009, St. Baldrick's had raised $12 million by April 14th which means that we are almost one month ahead! St. Baldrick's seen a fantastic year - and it's not even over yet! 

In addition to having raised $12 million, we also have more than 30,100 shavees--including more than 2,900 women-- who will be shaving at 643 events in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and 9 countries.  With more than 30,100 shavees registered, we are only 9,900 shavees away from our 2010 goal. 

To celebrate $12 million raised for childhood cancer research, 2010 Child Ambassador Sara is selling seashells by the seashore.  Well, not really; but Sara did have some fun gathering some items along the shore of Lake Michigan during a recent trip.  Sara once again has been a very busy preschooler this month.  On Friday, March 12 she was an Honored Kid at Fado Irish Pub event in Downtown Chicago that ended up raising over $183,600.  Yesterday, she had a check-up chest x-ray at the hospital that we are glad to say came back clear!  Also yesterday, Sara inquired if there was special glue she could use to glue her older sister to the toilet seat.  Always the practical joker, that one! Finally, Sara's father, Joe, and his teammates from Team Sara Beth will be shaving their heads tomorrow Friday, March 19 at the Chicago Police Area 5 event.
