Hip-Hip-Hoor-Eight! That's right! We have now raised more than $8,000,000 for childhood cancer research! The most recent million was raised in a mere 2 days and more than a week ahead of the same milestone last year! In addition to having raised $8 million, St. Baldrick's also has more than 24,400 shavees--including more than 2,500 women-- shaving at over 615 events in 44 states, the District of Columbia and 7 countries.
Once again here to serenade all of you for this great accomplishment is 2010 Child Ambassador Zoe. Zoe loves to sing and can often be found serenading those around her with her much-loved karaoke machine. Zoe was recently a part of a fashion show at the Children's Hospital of Orange County where she got to meet some players from the National Hockey League team the Anaheim Ducks. Zoe will also be an honored kid at the Bell Tower Foundation Community event in Rancho Santa Margarita on March 22. Also at the same event, Zoe's mom, Suzanne, is hoping to raise $1,000 to have her head shaved again! To make a donation to her page, follow this link.
'Hip-Hip-Hoor-Eight! Isn't eight million great? Now let's get to 9! Because that we would be so fine! Thank you for your donations, to the St. Baldrick's Foundation!"
To make 2010 our biggest year yet, we need more than 40,000 shavees, so everyone is encouraged to do their part to support the cause. To locate or organize an event in your community, sign-up to shave, donate, or volunteer, visit www.StBaldricks.org. You can also become a Fan on Facebook, follow @StBaldricks on Twitter and visit the St. Baldrick's YouTube Channel.
