What's happening in the world- wide St. Baldricks community?
Click here to find out »Princess Snow White, better known as our 2010 Ambassador Child Sara, is celebrating with her seven dwarfs that St. Baldrick's volunteers have raised more than $7 million for childhood cancer research! The latest million was raised in only 4 days by our dedicated shavees and donors! On behalf of Princess Snow White (aka Sara) and all the other princesses and princes fighting cancer, we would like to thank you for your hard work and commitment to the cause.
Princess Snow White, or Sara to her friends and family, has been extremely busy in recent weeks. Last week, she and her family attended a special event at an indoor water park hosted by the Pediatric Oncology and Brain Tumor Family Support group at Lutheran General in Chicago. Then, last Tuesday Sara got her first haircut in over a year and decided on an adorable pixie cut while her hair continues to grow. Sara will be an Honored Child at both the Fado Irish Pub event in Downtown Chicago on March 12, 2010 and the Chicago Police Area 5 event on March 19, 2010. Sara's dad, Joe, will be buzzing it off along with 19 other shavees on Team Sara Beth that day.
In addition to having raised over $7 million dollars in 2010, we also have 22,000 shavees registered at 601 events in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and 6 countries! Countries holding St. Baldrick's events include Bermuda, Canada, Hong Kong, Northern Ireland, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The event in Singapore will be the first St. Baldrick's event held in that country!
To make 2010 our biggest year yet, we need more than 40,000 shavees, so everyone is encouraged to do their part to support the cause.
