$6 Million!

Did you know that seeing six stars in a row is a sign of luck ahead? Well, last night there must have been six stars in a row someplace because St. Baldrick's has raised more than $6 million for childhood cancer research! This is absolutely incredible since we have reached each million almost a week ahead of schedule! We currently have more than 20,500 shavees registered at 598 events around the world! A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone of our shavees, volunteers, and donors for being heroes to kids with cancer. 

Being a lover of stars and the moon himself, 2010 Ambassador Child Khalid knew that today would be a great day for St. Baldrick's and so he decided to celebrate a little early.  Last month, Khalid and nine members of his family traveled to Walt Disney World in Florida for his Make-A-Wish trip.  Not only did the family get to enjoy an entire week at the resort but it was also the first time on a plane for Khalid and many of his siblings.  After a fun filled week in Florida, Khalid and his family returned home to attend the Hibernian Restaurant and Pub event in Raleigh on February 27 which raised more than $206,000.  Additionally, Khalid's mother, Danielle, has signed on to shave her head in September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month along with 46 other cancer moms.
